CGH has an exciting opportunity for a Policy Correspondence & Editorial Specialist to join our team supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Position Overview

The Policy Correspondence & Editorial Specialist plays a key role in supporting FAA air traffic policy operations. This position manages the Policy Correspondence Mailbox, oversees end-to-end workflow for policy documents, and leads editorial review activities.

The Specialist ensures the accurate and timely processing of policy changes, memoranda, Letters of Agreement (LOAs), interpretations, and other technical and administrative documentation.

This position also maintains document controls within the FAA's Knowledge Services Network (KSN) SharePoint system and collaborates closely with internal teams, FAA stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and external partners to ensure compliance, quality, consistency, and timely publication of policy documentation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily operations of the Policy Correspondence Mailbox, including routing, tracking, and managing policy packages throughout the FAA policy change lifecycle.
  • Assign and oversee workload for the Editorial Review Team.
  • Conduct editorial and technical reviews of FAA air traffic policy documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, quality, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Create, update, and maintain authoritative document controls, records, and related information within KSN SharePoint.
  • Monitor policy packages and correspondence to support accurate and timely processing through established review and approval workflows.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to FAA personnel, editors, contractors, and SMEs regarding policy processes, documentation standards, and editorial requirements.
  • Serve as a professional point of contact for FAA stakeholders, federal partners, and members of the public through official correspondence channels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and FAA stakeholders to address documentation issues, resolve workflow questions, and facilitate policy processing.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) updates, workflow optimization, process documentation, and audit support.
  • Provide director-level administrative and editorial assistance as needed.
Qualifications
Experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in policy administration, technical writing, editorial review, document management, or federal program support.
  • Prior direct experience working with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is required.
  • Experience supporting federal government policy, documentation, or correspondence processes is preferred.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Technical & Computer Skills
  • Experience with Oxygen XML Editor preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with SharePoint.
  • Experience with FAA's Knowledge Services Network (KSN) or similar document management environments is preferred.
  • Ability to manage electronic document workflows, records, and version-controlled documentation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • U.S. Citizen or individual with a valid U.S. Work Visa who has lived in the U.S. for at least 3+ years.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer-facing skills and the ability to interact professionally with FAA stakeholders, federal partners, contractors, SMEs, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret and translate customer requirements into clear, actionable tasks.
  • Strong editorial skills with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, consistency, grammar, formatting, and document quality.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work while maintaining accuracy and meeting established deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple document packages and workflows simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment when handling official correspondence and policy documentation.
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the individual is regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse for extended periods.

Occasional light lifting of up to 10 pounds may be required.
Government Eligibility

Candidates selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements.
Compensation

The hiring range for this position is $80K-$90K per year, based on relevant experience and position requirements as determined by the customer parameters.
