Plant Controller - Indianapolis, IN

We are looking for a motivated, highly skilled, strategic, and empowered financial leader to collaborate and support the Exits General Manager, providing insightful financial analysis, forecasting, and driving forward-looking strategic decision making within the business unit. You will be a key contributor to the overall success of the organization by leveraging your financial expertise and business acumen to influence critical decisions and drive financial performance. This role requires collaboration across a matrixed organization partnering with Operations, Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, among other groups. This role will also serve on the leadership team of the Indianapolis Ops location and have controllership over the site. This leader must possess strong accounting, financial analysis, internal control, planning, and reporting skills as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

What You Will Do:

Strategic Business Partnership:
  • Collaborate closely with the Exits General Manager and SBU Leadership Team to understand the business unit's goals, objectives, and challenges
  • Partner and drive business results with cross-functional leadership teams, providing financial expertise in strategic planning discussions
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing financial insights and recommendations to drive effective decision making and enhance business performance
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of business drivers and identify opportunities for financial optimization
  • Evaluate strategic initiatives and investment opportunities, providing financial analysis and recommendations to support decision making
  • Participate in M&A activities impacting the BU, including financial and operational due diligence, integration planning and post-merger implementation to ensure seamless value capture and alignment with strategic objectives.


Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Lead the forecasting and planning processes - Long-Range Plan (LRP), Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Forecasts, and Risks & Opportunities (R&O) - for the business unit, working closely with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and assumptions
  • Responsible for P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow for the Exits
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve financial performance of the business
  • Continued analysis of business results, along with market trends, to make recommendations to the SBU GM in support of strategic initiatives


Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Establish and monitor key financial and operational performance metrics to assess the health and progress of the SBU
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to senior management, highlighting financial results, variances, and actionable insights
  • Identify and execute improvements and digital/lean transformation opportunities in financial processes
  • Accountable for month-end close process and lead Day +3 monthly performance review calls
  • Responsibilities include ensuring that monthly financial statements are compliant with U.S. GAAP
  • Maintain strong internal controls in accordance with GAAP, FICAPs, and SOX


Talent Management:
  • Lead and develop a team of 2 finance professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and providing mentorship and guidance
  • Create a collaborative and engaging team environment for your direct reports
  • Identify opportunities for professional growth and development for team members, promoting a continuous learning environment


What You Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 7+ years of experience in the finance function of a manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership, presentation skills, and ability to explain and communicate financial results to management in an understandable and actionable format for decision-making purposes
  • Strong computer and analytical skills
  • We will consider relocation to Indianapolis for this opportunity
