Job DescriptionK&L Gates is seeking a junior to midlevel associate to join its growing private wealth practice, which encompasses estate and tax planning for high-net worth families, servicing family offices, and business succession planning for family businesses. The position will include complex document drafting (wills, trust agreements, settlement agreements, shareholders agreements, etc.), estate and trust administration, legal and tax research, transfer tax return preparation, project management, and direct client contact. The ideal candidate will have two to five years of experience in these areas and be open to placement in the Pittsburgh or Charlotte office.
Qualifications include:- Experience in the above mentioned areas.
- Sophisticated written and oral communication skills.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced and growing environment with oversight over multiple projects at any given time.
- Desire to manage and grow client relationships.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, or South Carolina (or eligible to waive into the bar of any such state).
- Openness to licensure in Florida.
Candidates will work closely with experienced lawyers who will provide active mentoring and opportunities to assume increasing levels of responsibility and client contact. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We require strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service.
Base Compensation $210,000 - $330,000 / year
The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
