Paralegal - HOA, Real Estate, and Construction Law

Location: Walnut Creek, CA (Hybrid potential)
Position: Full-Time
Practice Areas: HOA / Common Interest Development, Real Estate, Construction Litigation

About the Role

Berding & Weil is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Paralegal to support our busy HOA, real estate, and construction litigation practice. This role offers hands-on involvement in all stages of litigation and association governance, with direct collaboration alongside attorneys, homeowners association boards, community managers, and opposing counsel. The ideal candidate is highly organized, deadline-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced, client-service-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and organize legal documents, including correspondence, discovery, board meeting materials, ADR filings, and transactional documents.
  • Prepare and support litigation filings in state courts, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and document production.
  • Draft judgments, abstracts of judgment, liens, releases, and related post-judgment enforcement documents.
  • Conduct legal and factual research, including Davis-Stirling Act and Civil Code provisions.
  • Manage case files, maintain document databases, and track litigation and enforcement timelines.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and community association managers.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, depositions, mediations, and board meetings.
  • Support HOA-related enforcement actions, elections, and corporate governance tasks.

Qualifications
