About the RoleBerding & Weil is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive
Paralegal to support our busy HOA, real estate, and construction litigation practice. This role offers hands-on involvement in all stages of litigation and association governance, with direct collaboration alongside attorneys, homeowners association boards, community managers, and opposing counsel. The ideal candidate is highly organized, deadline-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced, client-service-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, review, and organize legal documents, including correspondence, discovery, board meeting materials, ADR filings, and transactional documents.
- Prepare and support litigation filings in state courts, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and document production.
- Draft judgments, abstracts of judgment, liens, releases, and related post-judgment enforcement documents.
- Conduct legal and factual research, including Davis-Stirling Act and Civil Code provisions.
- Manage case files, maintain document databases, and track litigation and enforcement timelines.
- Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and community association managers.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, depositions, mediations, and board meetings.
- Support HOA-related enforcement actions, elections, and corporate governance tasks.
Qualifications- 2+ years of paralegal experience, ideally in HOA, real estate, or civil litigation.
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of California civil procedure; familiarity with the Davis-Stirling Act strongly preferred.
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and legal practice management platforms.
