Team Summary
We are looking for an Operations Manager who will function as a key member of the Myerstown, PA leadership team and Residential Business network.

Job Summary
Responsible for leading and developing the maintenance and production staff, driving a safe and reliable work environment, and working with the leadership team in achieving annual and long term operational, quality and financial objectives. The successful candidate for this role is someone who is open to mobility, both in career progression and location.

Essential Duties

  • Partner with the EHS team to ensure the plant is compliant with all state, federal, and local regulations regarding safety, to include but not limited to OSHA and EPA regulatory standards. Serve as a leading advocate for safety initiatives within the plant, cultivating a mindset that priorities safety throughout the organization’s culture.
  • Foster a culture committed to ongoing continuous improvement across the Operations team by initiating various projects, such as 5S events, the application of lean principles, kaizen events, and cultivate continuous process improvement. Establish explicit objectives, supply necessary resources, and motivate staff to welcome and drive change.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, positive reinforcement, open communication and employee engagement. Proactively pursue ideas and incorporate relevant suggestions from teams.
  • Leverage information to evaluate outcomes, pinpoint improvement opportunities, and drive decisions with data-backed insights, guaranteeing enhancements are founded on empirical evidence rather than conjecture.
  • Responsible for building a robust talent portfolio within the Operations function, to include but not limited to, performance management and succession planning, creation of development plans, and identifying and addressing talent gaps within the organization.
  • Lead, mentor, and maximize the production and maintenance teams with a One Team mindset.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams by providing guidance and training to foster a unified dedication towards maintaining safety, production and quality standards.
  • Manage operational systems, workflows, and infrastructure to identify opportunities for enhancements or modifications.
  • Implement strategies for refining work procedures to enhance machine uptime in a cost effective manner. Guide the maintenance team’s efforts towards maximizing machine efficiency and reliability.
  • Partner with Plant and Operations leadership to establish clear performance, safety, quality, and engagement standards for the Operations network. Hold the team accountable for meeting and/or exceeding established metrics and expectations.
  • Provide an analysis of company KPI objectives and pinpoint opportunities for enhancement.
  • Identify and lead activities to ensure achievement of budget spending goals by improving efficiency and reducing costs while maintaining quality standards, meeting production delivery requirements, machine reliability and overall repair costs. Establish and implement best practices including preventative measures that continuously improve machine performance.
  • Set strategy for large-scale capital implementations while balancing product demand by working cross functionally.
  • Implement lean methodology to reduce waste and drive cost efficiencies within the site and across (insert BU) network.
  • Participate in budget and business planning activities for the site.
  • Utilize reporting to inform teams and identify opportunities for process and reliability improvements.
  • Plan and execute outages effectively with functions and plant teams.
  • (for union represented sites only) Understand and ensure compliance of terms within collective bargaining agreement(s)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of people leadership and team building experience. Preferably direct management of production and/or maintenance in high volume manufacturing operation, continuous web process or continuous manufacturing process


Qualifications Preferred

  • (For Union represented sites only) 2+ years management experience in a represented environment
  • Ability to relocate as part of career progression.
  • Experience leading supply chain or logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/influence/manage people.
  • Adept at being both a leader and a team player - positive interactions and participation on teams.

Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.

Base Salary Range: $132,000-$181,500
