Full Job Description
The Operations Manager will lead daily operations to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost performance targets. Maintain regular communication to ensure alignment on priorities, schedule execution, and issue resolution.

Qualified candidates must be able to work an on-site schedule at our Rensselaer, IN facility.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Manages the operational functions on each shift at the distribution center. This includes receiving, putaway, replenishing, picking from reserve (over goods locations), and picking from floor locations on Manhattan's 2017 rev warehouse management open system.
  • Works closely with EHS and Quality Managers in the areas of safety and quality thereby supporting both our QMS (Quality Management System), and EMS (Environmental Management System), and the DCI Safety Framework rollout.
  • Participates in the development of and executes the distribution center's operational budget.
  • Responsible for the compliance and use of all standard work. Works together with engineering and quality to ensure all training is properly and promptly completed to ensure the DC Operations teams comply with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Manages leadership development, staffing plans, scheduling, and other operations related functions to meet budget requirements.
  • A focus on supervisor development. Develop and work with supervisors in the areas of employee relations, problem solving, setting and achieving goals, operation process improvements, scheduling, HR actions, improving uptime and reducing waste, and training.
  • Support leadership development in the form of creating individual development plans for first line Supervisors with quarterly reviews.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement to realize cost reduction opportunities for the DC to create more of a competitive advantage and improve gross margin.
  • Participates as an active sponsor in supporting the DC's Lean initiatives. This to include participating in, and delegating the participation of qualified Supervisors and subject matter experts
  • Develops and analyzes efficiency rates and operating reports to identify downtime opportunities and more effective equipment utilization.
  • Subscribes to vertical accountability and a willingness to work directly with
  • the workforce when needing to gain more knowledge and understanding of the work being performed.
  • Establish and support formal feedback process to create an optimum communication flow between shop floor employees and leadership.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Leadership, Business, Engineering or related field
  • Six plus years of management or supervisory experience preferably in a larger distribution facility or a startup operation.

  • Experience with Manhattan Warehouse Management
  • Experience with Manhattan Labor Management
  • Experience with Oracle R12
  • Experience with System Implementation & Change Management
  • Lean Distribution Experience
