Job Description Summary
The Ongoing Care Team (OCT) Clinician is responsible for providing services to students and the University community, by offering individual and group psychotherapy/counseling, diagnostic assessment, psychological and career testing, consultation, outreach, and crisis intervention. The OCT Clinician is skilled in fostering the mental health, academic progress and career development of University students through a variety of psychotherapeutic and psycho-educational interventions.

Physical Demands: Standard office work.

Minimum Qualifications

To be eligible for hire as a Staff Psychologist (exempt salaried 4):

  • Education: Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Experience: Five (5) years of clinical practice in total, including experience gained throughout the Educational training.

  • Licenses/ Certifications: Licensed or license-eligible to practice psychology in the State of Maryland within 1 year from hire.

To be eligible for hire as a Counselor (exempt salaried 2):

  • Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Experience: Two (2) years of clinical experience in an ambulatory mental health setting.

  • Licenses/ Certifications: Licensed or license-eligible as a mental health provider in the State of Maryland.

  • Other: Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) may also be considered with at least 2000 hours of post-graduate supervised clinical work and the ability to obtain a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) license within one year.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of individual and group psychotherapy, counseling, diagnostic assessment, psychological and career testing, consultation, outreach, and crisis intervention.

  • Knowledge of group psychodynamics and supervision.

  • Skill in oral and written communication.

  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.

  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
