Full Job Description
Occupational Therapist II - Full-Time

The Occupational Therapist provides high-quality patient care and family education through evaluation, treatment planning, and the application of occupational therapy techniques, in alignment with regulatory standards and the philosophy of City of Hope. The therapist serves as a rehabilitation consultant for complex cases, facilitating innovative and efficient treatment interventions, while also overseeing student internships, clinical education, and the development of clinical programs and treatment protocols.

As a successful candidate, you will:
  • Screen patients to determine need for intervention and initiates referrals as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate intermediate level skills in developing treatment goals and plans based on evaluation data, rehabilitation potential, discharge plans, and in coordination with goals and plans of patient, family and other care team members.
  • Demonstrate intermediate level skill and creativity in implementing patient treatment programs which are safe, effective, and efficient.
  • Demonstrate intermediate level skills in modifying treatment plans according to patient needs and progress, terminate treatment appropriately, and develop appropriate discharge and post discharge plans.
  • Collaborate with physician and other healthcare professionals to ensure ongoing integrated patient care.
  • Assign treatments to rehabilitation services aides and occupational therapist assistants. Assess quality of care provided.
