Qualifications

• 1+ years as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, or 2+ years as a Registered Nurse preferred
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Master’s degree in Nursing for Nurse Practitioners preferred
• Bachelor's degree for Physician Assistants required; Master's degree strongly preferred
• Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina and national certification for Nurse Practitioners
• Licensed in NC and certified as a PA by the National Commission required
• BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians to evaluate, diagnose, and treat Radiation Oncology patients
• Conduct thorough patient histories and physical exams, ordering diagnostic tests as needed
• Educate patients and caregivers on diagnoses and treatment options, including radiation logistics
• Manage acute and late effects of radiation treatments
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate health records
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care
• Participate in training for new staff, students, and residents
