Job Role and Responsibility: Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring MTS Silicon Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Oversee definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for custom mixed-signal design development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation. Define module interfaces/formats for simulation. Lead the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Participate in product bring-up and debug and contribute to test-plans and characterization reports Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work with cross-functional teams including engineers to develop custom mixed signal/layout design, working on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of or wide-ranging experience with computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, design techniques, tools, and principles to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree requiredMaster's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related engineering role.
Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:Position requires Three (3) years of experience in the following:
- Mixed-signal circuit design emphasizing Clock Distribution Networks and SI/PI performance for system design;
- Mixed signal design circuit blocks;
- Low power design techniques for high-speed, custom digital circuits;
- Functional verification of microprocessors;
- Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification;
- ASIC design and tools (synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, static timing analysis);
- Large scale ASIC chip physical design;
- C, C++, or Python;
- Logic and circuit design;
- CPU, GPU, or SoC architecture; and
- Unix or Linux environments.
