Standard Job DescriptionThe WorkThe Command, Control, Communications (C3) organization is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to lead the development of advanced software that drives next generation ship prototypes and mission critical capabilities. As a senior MBSE, you will leverage your MBSE experience to help shape and lead the implementation of MBSE on current and emerging programs. You will assist Systems Engineering team members in developing model-based work products and serve as a key resource to other engineering disciplines to help facilitate efficient and effective adoption of MBSE principles and practices.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Establishing MBSE implementation strategies for development programs
• Interacting with programs, functional and customer leadership to ensure alignment of MBSE implementation goals, expectations and outcomes
• Collaborating with MBSE Digital Transformation functional competency to facilitate adoption of MBSE initiatives and tools
• Developing program architectures and system models utilizing established t reference architectures to include interface control modeling
• Mentoring and training SE team members to grow MBSE knowledge and capability within the team.
• Collaborating with other functional teams to ensure successful MBSE implementation
This position will also support the definition & implementation of MBSE products and processes by partnering across our Systems Engineering teams, and with the overall MBSE efforts. The goal is to incorporate and modernize model-based methods into products, processes, and design reviews. Define, develop, and maintain the end to end digital engineering architecture, ensuring traceability to program requirements and performance goals. Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.
This position is located at a facility that requires special access and will require a U. S. DoD security clearance.
Basic Qualifications• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Engineering or related STEM discipline
• Minimum of 5 years experience in systems engineering or related engineering discipline with hands on practice in requirements, analysis, decomposition, and verification
• Systems Architecture modeling experience (e.g., systems development, interface control modeling)
• Proficiency in SysML, Cameo, DOORS, Rational, Jira and other MBSE related tools
• Ability to obtain & maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level
Desired Skills• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience engaging with Engineering, Program and Customer leaders and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and mentor a team of systems engineers
• Experience in developing strategies and translating them into action and driving results
• Experience with Agile development tools and methodologies
• Experience with LM's Digital Transformation and SE modernization efforts.
