Description
The Financial Services Sector (FSS) Global Department aims to support client countries to create an enabling environment in which financial stability, efficiency, and firm-level solutions are provided in an integrated way to crowd in the private sector, support the creation of markets, and accelerate equitable growth. The Financial Services Sector Department supports emerging markets and developing economies in developing deep, inclusive, efficient, and resilient financial systems. As a key sector under the WBG Knowledge Bank, FSS leverages its financial sector knowledge and global-regional insights to enhance the enabling environment and deliver practical solutions for our clients to meet their biggest development challenges.
The Financial System Resilience and Integrity (WKPFR) team strengthens banking sector stability in client countries. It delivers Financial Sector Assessment Programs (FSAPs), technical assistance on financial stability and integrity, and e.g. crisis simulation exercises. The unit promotes compliance with international standards on banking supervision, deposit insurance, and bank resolution. It coordinates WBG engagement with the FSB, BCBS, and IADI, advocating for EMDE perspectives. For more information, visit Financial Integrity & Stability.

• Design and facilitate financial sector crisis simulation exercises with central banks, resolution authorities, and finance ministries.
