Governance and Institutions are fundamental for inclusive and sustainable development. Recognizing the need for more ambition, the work on this important agenda is being scaled up and reorganized around the following three global units: institutional capacity and effectiveness, public administration and services, and fiduciary systems. These units will jointly push the frontiers of global knowledge and support country and sectoral teams to enable them to help client governments in thinking through and addressing critical governance challenges, so they can meet the growing demands and expectations of their citizens.
The Institutional Capacity and Effectiveness unit (WKPGI) focuses on transversal and integrative functions and innovations. WKPGI is responsible for strengthening the data and analytics agenda in Governance. This includes developing an institutional capacity assessment framework and development of policy indicators and tools that can facilitate the understanding of how public institutions functions and their capacity to implement their specific mandates.
Duties and Responsibilities • WKPGI is seeking an MNA Fellow to support three key areas: (i) the development of global indicators that assess the capacity of public institutions to carry out their mandates, implement policies, and deliver projects, while generating actionable recommendations for improvement; (ii) the design of tools for analyzing government administrative data; and (iii) the preparation of analytical reports and notes on institutional strengths and weaknesses at the country level.
• The selected candidate will serve as a technical specialist and will be expected to:
• Contribute to the design and refinement of methodologies and analytical tools for assessing public institutions, drawing on relevant research and established analytical approaches;
• Manage and maintain databases, including the integration and harmonization of survey and secondary data sources;
• Develop dashboards, data visualizations, and analytical outputs using Governance Global Practice and other relevant datasets;
• Collaborate with team members and Task Team Leaders (TTLs) to support or lead the preparation of policy notes, reports, presentations, and other knowledge products.

• Master's degree and at least two years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working on data and analytics in government or a development organization
