Starting Wage: $46.81 per hour and $47.66 per hour after probation

Immediate, Open Position

Presstran Industries is a supplier to the automotive industry. Presstran’s lines of automotive stampings and welding assemblies are used in front motor compartments, underbody structures, truck frame components and front and rear suspensions.

The Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) contributes to the safety and efficiency of production operations by regularly inspecting, repairing, modifying and maintaining equipment and machinery as required to minimize downtime.    

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Must be a licensed Industrial Millwright.

2. Equivalent to completion of specialized courses normally taught in community or Specialty College consisting of more than 2 academic years.

3. Industrial experience including Hydraulics and Press knowledge are definite assets.

4. Own tools required.

5. Skill gained by experience

DUTIES:

1. Repairs/maintains/inspects/modifies designated machinery/equipment.

2. Notifies supervisor/leadhand of replacement parts/fluids as required for preventative maintenance and/or repair.

3. Participates in the training of apprentices as assigned by supervisor

4. Completes PM as assigned by Supervisor

5. Ensures all guards are in place.

6. Uses proper safety equipment on aerial work platforms at or above 9 feet.

7. Flexible to work on many projects simultaneously, able to prioritize. Be flexible and open to changes in assignment to provide support to other areas of the department.

8. Ability to operate production equipment, as required.

9. Takes part in the continuous improvement process to improve productivity and quality (provides suggestions, participates in problem-solving, volunteers on committee or focus group activities, etc.) and focuses on solutions.

10. Ensures the on-going safety of machines before and after repairs

11. Reviews concerns and problems from previous shifts.

12. Assists and learn other maintenance trades as required to become a part of multi-functional team.

13. Ensure that repairs made meet all standards of work requirements and are completed quickly and efficiently

14. Follows and adheres to requirements of current customer quality and environmental management systems standards

15. Uses Maintenance Reliability Manager Maintenance Program

16. To be able to work well in a team setting and work well individually.

17. Comes to work each day, as scheduled and on time.

18. Approaches each day and each challenge with a positive attitude.

19. Conducts themselves in a professional manner when receiving or giving feedback/information, whether it is positive or constructive.

20. Supports and models the Presstran operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook and “How We Work Together”, Magna Employee’s Charter, Magna Corporate Constitution.

21. Follows and complies with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environmental programs (e.g.. ISO/IATF-16949, ISO14001).

22. Required to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the OHSA. Follows and ensures the Company’s procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout their assigned area.

23. Other duties as required.
