Standard Job DescriptionWhat You Will Be DoingAs a Strategic Operations Research Analyst, you will be responsible for modeling a variety of adversary threats and friendly force responses at the theater level of operations. You will be translating government provided documents into AFSIM models and conducting analysis in support of customer needs.
Your responsibility will include:
- Modeling adversary military capabilities in Advanced Framework for Modeling, Simulation and Integration (AFSIM)
- Develop software to meet customer needs
- Post-processing large data sets to draw out valuable insights
- Coordinating and integrating with teams across Lockheed Martin to conduct high quality and timely analysis
- Interfacing with internal and external customers and stakeholders ensuring their analysis needs are satisfied

Uses advanced techniques for researching, developing, integrating and deploying advanced modeling, data analytics, simulation and analysis (MS&A) methods and toolsets to quantify the impact of operational concepts, AI/ML algorithms, vehicle design, payloads, and tactics across multiple missions and domains. Applies critical thinking and scientific methods to mathematics, statistical approaches, engineering practices, operational mathematics techniques, and data science to evaluate system capabilities. Provides classified complex modeling, data analysis and quantitative & qualitative reasoning to inform decisions across areas in the Joint All-Domain Operations spectrum. Evaluates current and future adversary threat systems and environments, using the same techniques, to understand operational impacts and provide analysis. Translates customer questions into meaningful studies and develops advanced MS&A methods to enable analysis supporting requirements definition, system of system evaluation, interoperability in joint environments and utility assessments of advanced technology and concepts.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or above in a STEM discipline from an accredited college / university
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with object oriented programming (Python, C++, etc.)
- DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Skills- Masters degree or above
- Current DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Proficient in Linux
- Proficient in .git
- Modeling and simulation experience
- Proficient in analytical methods (e.g. design of experiments, optimization, or statistical analysis)
Pay InformationGeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $88100.00 - $163700.00
