Full Job Description
As an MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Team Leader you will provide technical leadership, staff development, and quality oversight for a multi-discipline technical team supporting facilities and building-related projects in manufacturing environments. This role is responsible for developing technical capabilities, mentoring professionals, strengthening standards of practice, and partnering with Project Managers and Client Leaders to support project delivery, client needs, and strategic growth.

The role will have a target mix of approximately 50% working directly with the members on funded client project efforts and 50% general team leadership.

Primary Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership
  • Serve as the technical leader for Facility Systems competency areas, including architecture and building MEP engineering
  • Establish, maintain, and reinforce technical standards, workflows, best practices, codes, and company procedures
  • Support complex technical problem solving and project execution
  • Lead technical reviews of high-risk or high-visibility projects
  • Champion cross-competency coordination with other technical teams to support overall project delivery success
  • Champion innovation, digital delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives


Talent Development
  • Mentor technical professionals at all career stages
  • Develop discipline growth plans and technical career paths
  • Support onboarding and integration of new employees
  • Identify technical training needs and coordinate development opportunities that support knowledge sharing and continuous learning
  • Participate in succession planning and leadership development efforts


Quality and Risk Management
  • Support implementation of quality management practices that improve consistency and technical quality across project teams
  • Participate in lessons learned and root-cause analysis activities
  • Help identify and mitigate technical and operational risks


Resource Planning
  • Support workforce planning, project allocation, and staffing alignment for major pursuits and projects
  • Monitor technical capabilities, workload trends, and future staffing needs
  • Assist in recruiting and hiring technical talent


Business Support
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison for subcontractor or flexible partner relationships established for additional architecture and building MEP capacity
  • Provide technical input for proposals and client pursuits
  • Support project managers in developing innovative and competitive technical solutions
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies
  • Represent Foth in professional organizations and industry events


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or related technical discipline
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Experience in food & beverage manufacturing environments and capital projects
  • Experience leading technical teams and multidisciplinary project teams in a discipline, practice, engineering management, technical lead, or similar role
  • Demonstrated proficiency with engineering design, project delivery, and quality management
  • Ability to influence across organizational boundaries without direct reporting authority
  • Ability to travel ~25% for project-related client site visits and/or internal meetings
  • Must be located in, or willing to relocate to, the greater Cincinnati, Ohio area


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) and/or Engineering-Led Design-Build project delivery approaches
  • Experience supporting business development and strategic initiatives
  • Experience implementing digital engineering tools, standards, and workflows
