Provides clinical and strategic leadership for the development of a comprehensive, multidisciplinary center dedicated to children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental, developmental, behavioral, genetic, and neurologic disorders while maintaining an active clinical practice. Leads the development of an integrated model that brings together physicians, psychologists, therapists, behavior specialists, genetic counselors, nurses, social workers, researchers, educators, and other professionals to provide coordinated, family-centered care. Develops and implements a nationally recognized Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Center of Excellence integrating clinical care, research, education, community engagement, and innovative therapeutics.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:- Maintains an active clinical practice focused on neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Develops and implement the strategic vision for the Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Center of Excellence under the guidance of senior leadership.
- Develops an integrated clinical model encompassing developmental medicine, neuroscience, behavioral health, genetics, rehabilitation, and therapeutic services.
- Develops partnerships across Boys Town National Research Hospital to leverage existing institutional expertise.
- Leads development and integration of programs addressing conditions including: autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, global developmental delay, developmental regression, ADHD and complex behavioral disorders, Cerebral palsy and motor disabilities, developmental and epileptic encephalopathies, genetic and neurogenetic disorders, communication disorders, learning disabilities, complex behavioral disorders associated with developmental disability, feeding disorders, motor and coordination disorders, developmental disabilities associated with congenital and acquired neurologic conditions.
- Partners with psychology, psychiatry, behavior analysis, developmental medicine, neurology, nursing, and therapy services to develop programs addressing severe aggression, self-injurious behavior, elopement, Pica, property destruction, severe emotional and behavioral dysregulation, and treatment-resistant behavioral disorders.
- Promotes integration of clinical research into the clinical mission of the Center.
- Establishes a data-driven approach to Center development and quality improvement.
- Champions innovative care-delivery models, including telehealth, multidisciplinary visits, centralized intake, and regional outreach.
- Develops partnerships with schools, early intervention programs, state agencies, advocacy organizations, community providers, universities, and regional health systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:- Advanced knowledge of neurodevelopmental disabilities and evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Skilled in strategic healthcare program leadership and multidisciplinary team management.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, physician collaboration, and community partnership development.
- Ability to lead organizational growth, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across clinical, research, and operational functions.
- Ability to recruit, mentor, and develop professional staff.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- M.D. or D.O. degree or equivalent required.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited or equivalent residency/fellowship training pathway appropriate to the candidate's specialty required.
- Board certification or board eligibility in an appropriate specialty such as Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, Child Neurology, Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, Pediatrics with appropriate advanced developmental training required.
- Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in Nebraska required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing NDD physician preferred.
