This position contributes to the success of the company by providing accurate designs for current and new solutions for integrated labeling systems. The Mechanical engineer is responsible for all aspects of the design process, including generating new ideas, making plans, fabricating hardware, analyzing components and maintaining systems. Essential Job Functions • Design, develop, and detail integrated labeling systems using standard and custom components that meet customer requirements and are delivered within defined schedules and project scope • Utilize design information from previous projects to maximize efficiency and cost effectiveness • Assist Sales and Application Engineering in developing concepts and reviewing customer requirements • Lead design reviews and evaluate peer designs, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement • Create detailed drawings for unique parts, including all documentation required by fabrication departments or outside vendors to manufacture system components • Collaborate with team members within the Engineering Department and other departments involved in projects to efficiently deliver high-quality solutions for customers (Project Management, Controls Engineering, Assembly, Service, etc.) • Perform analyses such as strength, speed, and weight calculations as required to ensure successful designs • Participate in all phases of a project, including design, manufacturing support, assembly support, testing, and customer acceptance • Assist with service-related and aftermarket support inquiries. • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting documentation, including technical manuals and project folders • Develop value-added design solutions that improve equipment performance, simplify manufacturing, and enhance the customer experience • Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results within established project timelines • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively reprioritize as business needs require Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field • 5+ years as a Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, Mechanical Design engineer, CAD Engineer, Simulation Engineer, or related engineering role focused on mechanical design • 3+ years experience with 3D and 2D CAD software • Working knowledge of machining and machine shop processes • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and organizational skills Other Skills/Abilities which will ensure success • Experience with engineering, design and fabrication of food and beverage packaging equipment • Experience with motion control systems, sensors, actuators, pneumatics, and related automation. • Working knowledge of electrical design, component selection, and AC/DC circuit fundamentals • Experience with ERP systems; experience with SyteLine by Infor is preferred • Positive attitude with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team-oriented environment • Ability and willingness to travel to customer facilities, up to 5% Physical requirements of position • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods during equipment assembly, testing, and troubleshooting • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds on occasion • Ability to safely use hand tools and measuring instruments • Ability to access machinery and equipment in tight spaces when required for inspection, assembly, or troubleshooting • Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment, pneumatic systems, and industrial manufacturing environments while following all safety requirements Exposure to Hazardous Materials Negligible What's in it for you?
