Purpose of Position
As a Mechanical Engineer II, you will be responsible for contributing to all phases of product development and sustainment of mechanical and electro-mechanical products. You will participate as an active team member or as the engineering lead, based on project complexity. The person in this role will be expected to utilize their communication, technical and project management skills to develop solutions and coordinate cross functionally to achieve project objectives. The ideal candidate is as comfortable working in CAD as they are in the lab and out in the field.
Key Responsibilities
• Design & document mechanical components and systems for a wide variety of fueling equipment. This includes the design and/or selection of elastomers, plastics, machined parts, and castings.
• Develop FMEA's and create test plans to validate product performance and assist as needed in the lab to facilitate and execute test plans.
• Actively participate in and execute cost savings initiatives such as VAVE and PPV efforts while ensuring high quality.
• Utilize project management skills to ensure on-time delivery, quality and cost requirements are achieved.
• Support the operations team in new product launches, revisions to existing products, cost reduction efforts and general production support as required.
• Work cross functionally with procurement, product/marketing, technical support and other engineering disciplines.
• Lead and contribute to solving complex problems in today's fueling industry.
Qualifications:
Background and Skill
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Proficiency in 3D Solid Modeling, Creo preferred
• Proficiency in dimensioning and detailing drawings
• Experience performing Tolerance Stack-ups, performing DFMEAs, and developing Test Plans
• Experience designing for injection molding, sheet metal, castings, machining, and electronics packaging.
• Manufacturing knowledge of elastomers, plastics, machining, casting, assembly and testing.
• Exposure to structural, flow and/or thermal analysis
• 5+ years of experience in a similar engineering role
The base compensation range for this position is $88,000to $104,500 per annum. Your actual base salary will be determined based upon numerous factors which may include relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity.
