Job Summary:
Teledyne FLIR is looking for a hands-on mechanical engineer to work in the Surveillance Systems Division in Orlando FL. This position will require working with a diversified team across multiple locations on high performance imaging and laser systems. The position will require hand-on technical expertise in design, analysis, and testing of opto-mechanical systems.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and testing of complex opto-mechanical mechanisms and optical systems.
- Support the alignment of optical components and subsystems
- Geometric Tolerancing per ANSI/ASME Y14.5M
- Responsible for the mechanical specifications and planning related to electro-optical system design and testing.
- Effective communication among cross discipline team located in multiple sites.
Job Qualifications:
- At least 5 years’ experience with the design, test and/or analysis of opto-mechanical parts and assemblies. BS in Mechanical.
- Experience aligning or designing alignment tooling for Optical Systems preferred.
- Designing with a solid modeling CAD program (SolidWorks and EPDM a plus)
- Ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts within the mechanical engineering field and good knowledge of other related disciplines
- Demonstrated experience in working within a multi-disciplinary team in a fast paced, technically challenging environment.
