MBDA Incorporated is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development and design of mechanical systems. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex design challenges, producing high-quality technical documentation, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
Principal Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical designs and supporting technical documentation.
- Prepare engineering studies, conceptual designs, layouts, and detailed drawings.
- Create and maintain interface control drawings and installation drawings.
- Develop control plans and other design-related documentation.
- Maintain accurate and organized CAD databases and design records.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, program management, and other functional teams.
- Communicate technical information clearly through written documentation, presentations, and team discussions.
- Ensure designs and documentation meet applicable project requirements, engineering standards, and configuration-control processes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
- Two to four years of relevant industry experience.
- At least two years of experience in mechanical systems development and design.
- Experience using mechanical modeling or CAD software such as Siemens NX, Unigraphics, CATIA, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to collaborate successfully as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in mechanical systems development and design.
- Experience using Siemens NX.
- Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
Work Schedule and Environment
This is a full-time position performed during regular business hours. Occasional work outside regular business hours may be required to meet project deadlines or complete assignments.
The position operates primarily in a professional office environment and requires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment. The employee must be able to maintain mental alertness, exercise close visual attention, and remain seated for extended periods.
