Job DescriptionThe primary purpose of the Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for carrying out the duties for the Engineer department, including design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating and process improvement.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Geographic Scope: United States

- Act as a safety leader and put safety first in all responsibilities, promoting an environment where each employee makes safety their priority
- Complete 3D designs for new, and existing machine components, fabrications and assemblies.
- Translate 3D models into detailed drawings with an eye for detail
- Create machine documentation from BOMs for manufacture through to parts manuals and after-sales service.
- Layouts in AutoCAD for potential customers
- Create presentations of the equipment in PowerPoint using 3D SolidWorks models that we provide
- Assist with creation of operational manuals for the existing equipment
- Assist with looking for the local suppliers for some parts (if required in the future)

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
- Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering degree or similar.
- Experience in AutoCAD.
- Experience designing for the food industry and an understanding of hygienic design requirements.
- Experience in sheet metal design and an understanding of welding advantages and limitations.
- Experience in SolidWorks would be an advantage.

CompensationThe starting salary for this position is expected to be between $85,600 to $107,000; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $85,600 to $128,400 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcors Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
The salary range provided reflects the anticipated base pay for this role at the time of this posting. This range is applicable to positions performed in jurisdictions with pay transparency requirements, including CA, CO, CT, HI, IL, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NY, RI, VT, WA, Washington DC, as well as remote roles that may be performed in these locations. Compensation for roles performed outside of these jurisdictions may vary. The Company reserves the right to modify this range at any time.
