Full Job Description
Materials development presents one of the greatest opportunities in 3D printing. As a Materials intern, you'll work side-by-side in the lab with the rest of our Materials team. You'll get an opportunity to constantly develop, formulate, and test materials that we've never printed with before -- and every experiment plays a big role in how we solve new challenges in 3D printing.
If you specialize in a combination of the following, and you're ready to get your hands dirty solving real problems for real products, we want you as a **Materials Intern**.

**Internship Term: ** Winter/Spring 2027 (January - April)**Commitment: ** Full-time**Location: ** Onsite in Somerville, MA
**The Job:**
- Work in our materials development lab on various materials challenges
**You:**
- Passionate about material science or chemistry
- Comfortable working in a wet lab environment
- Have completed research or coursework with polymers
- Comfortable working with CAD programs (ie SolidWorks)
- Basic computer programming (Python)
- Background in organic chemistry or plastic engineering

**Compensation:**
Interns at Formlabs are paid on a bi-weekly pay schedule. The pay range for this role will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location and expected impact on the organization. This is a salaried role, so you will always be paid based on the assumed 40 hours per week as a full-time intern. This position does not offer housing or relocation assistance.
The weekly pay range for this role is:
$1,300-$1,900 USD
