Full Job Description
We are seeking a skilled senior-level Machinist responsible for precision machining, complex problem-solving, and optimizing production processes. This role requires extensive experience across various machining techniques, including CNC and manual machining, as well as advanced knowledge of tooling, fixturing, and metrology. The Master Machinist will play a key role in mentoring machinists, improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:
• Set up, operate, and fine-tune CNC and manual machines, including mills, lathes, grinders, and other specialty equipment, ensuring precision and efficiency.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T specifications to achieve exact tolerances.
• Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for machining processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and tool life.
• Design, select, and implement custom tooling, fixtures, and work holding solutions for complex parts and high- tolerance machining.
• Troubleshoot machining issues, identifying and resolving errors in programming, setup, tooling, and machine operation.
• Work closely with engineers, CNC programmers, and production teams to refine manufacturing processes and improve product quality.
• Train and mentor junior machine operators, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
• Research and integrate new machining technologies, techniques, and automation solutions to enhance shop efficiency.
• Maintain detailed documentation on setups, tooling, maintenance, and process improvements to ensure repeatability and consistency.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years in precision machining, including CNC and manual machine operation.
• Advanced knowledge of CNC programming (G-code), CAD/CAM software, and high-precision machining techniques.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex machining issues.
• Deep understanding of tool selection, cutting parameters, and fixture design for efficient and accurate machining.
• Expertise in reading and interpreting technical drawings, CAD models, and GD&T specifications.
• Proficiency in precision measurement techniques and use of metrology equipment such as CMMs.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Extensive experience with ERP/MRP systems for job tracking and inventory management.
• Associate's degree or technical certification in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field preferred.

Work Environment:
• Physically demanding role involving regular bending, stooping, crawling, and standing on a concrete shop floor.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required on the shop floor (all PPE provided).
• Fast-paced manufacturing environment.
