Full Job Description
Leidos' Defense Systems Manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Project Manager to join our Defense team in Huntsville, AL supporting the Common Hypersonic Glide Body (CHGB) Program. Leidos' Defense Systems Manufacturing has immediate need for a flexible Manufacturing Project Manager (MPM) particularly skilled in managing multiple projects and project stakeholder interests. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in project management, cost accounting, Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and in a manufacturing environment. The position requires technical understanding of various assembly & testing manufacturing processes necessary to produce the highest levels of industry, military, and space levels of quality assurance. The MPM will be responsible for all associated tasks, costs, schedule, status reporting, leading constraint resolution, Estimates to Completion (ETC) development, and scope of work monitoring. The MPM works within a matrix organization and is responsible for coordinating the necessary resources with various manufacturing Leaders & Program Managers to ensure the program executes to customer requirements and documented execution plans for cost and schedule. Primary Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Leaders on the assigned projects to meet established business KPI's and contractual requirements.
  • Direct point of contact and support of internal/external customers and Program Management team members to define manufacturing requirements and plans.
  • Provide input to processes, standards, and operational plans to implement organizational strategies.
  • Provide regular status of the assembly to the Program Managers & Customers.
  • Manage all program required deliverables to on-time delivery at required quality levels.
  • This position requires knowledge in the development, maintenance, and/or tracking of: Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB), the change management process, the work authorization process, forecasting Estimates at Completion (EACs), and implementing corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of customer reporting (i.e., Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR or IPMDAR), etc.)
  • Project management or project control experience working with Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), IMS, and work authorizations
  • Understanding of cost and schedule development as well as controls to conduct root cause analysis developing variance rationale and recovery plans, as needed.
  • Experience with baseline change control processes and monthly schedule status processes
  • Familiar with integration of EVMS and risk management
  • Ability to communicate with executive leadership (internally or externally) regarding matters of significant importance to the organization/project, serving as a primary briefer on Cost, Schedule, Performance, IBRs, EVM reviews and other program control events inside the Program and for Leidos leadership.
  • Provide regular program status updates and reports to customers and organizational managers.
  • Manage & report out program status using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) CPI & SPI
  • Experience with development of Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Complete (EAC)
  • Develop variance analysis on EAC & recovery plans as needed.
  • Support development of labor and material estimates for new business opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison between Manufacturing, Program Management & Senior Leadership.
