What we are looking forWe're searching for a Manufacturing Production Manager to join Aurora's Hardware Operations - Manufacturing team. This team is responsible for planning, managing, and executing production of Aurora products. Quality, on time delivery, and cost controls are essential to the success of the Hardware Operations - Manufacturing Team.
In this role you will- Manage a team of Production Planners and Project Managers
- Communicate manufacturing status to Hardware leadership at recurring check ins, development gate reviews, change control board, risk assessments, and program meetings; Includes a clear indication of schedule, quality and budget for any production job
- Chiefly responsible for delivering the supply to meet aggregate manufacturing demand for Aurora, including vehicle and independent demand for both internal and external manufacturing as well as repair and maintenance of the Aurora Driver Kit.
- Track and control key performance indicators listed in the Quality Management System, such as cost metrics and production efficiency
- Host manufacturing production stand ups for Vehicle Integration, Integrated Modules, Subassemblies and Harnesses inclusive of all collaborative teams
- Support fleet demand for hardware issue resolution, changes, upgrades and spare parts demand
- Champion and facilitate the use of the ERP system to log all business transactions, including job work data and inventory controls
- Ensure Production Readiness and Clear To Build for Hardware in the Loop (HIL) Benches, Modules, Computers, Harnesses, and Integration Assemblies
- Collaborate with New Vehicle Introduction engineering for the creation of Manufacturing BOMs (MBOM), support data management and part creation in the ERP
- Coordinate with manufacturing leadership for resources and technicians to maximize production efficiencies, yet maintain flexibility to adopt approved design changes
- Coordinate material processes with Supply Chain, Quality, VRE, SEO, HW Product Engineering teams
- Manage HW Product Rework with urgency to minimize Fleet downtime
- Drive continuous improvement in production, and minimize production downtime
Required qualifications- 10 years of experience in production management; may include time spent as an individual contributor in a production office
- Knowledge in Production Planning
- Experience with ERP implementation and continuous improvement
- Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to changing designs
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing designs
- Manufacturing in R&D environments
Desirable qualifications- Proficiency in ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems
- Program or Project Management skills
- Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
- Bachelors of Science degree in engineering
- Masters in Business Administration degree
- Financial and accounting foundational knowledge
For roles based in Pittsburgh, PA: The salary range for this position is $133,000 - $213,000 per year.
Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
