A Snapshot of Your Day As a Manufacturing Master Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining the manufacturing data foundation for Siemens Energy's new Power Transformer factory in Charlotte, North Carolina. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, planning, and procurement teams, you will manage and govern manufacturing master data within SAP S/4HANA to support safe, efficient, and scalable operations.
In this role, you will help build processes, standards, and documentation from the ground up as the factory ramps production. You will be responsible for executing and maintaining engineering changes, manufacturing bills of materials (MBoMs), routings, work centers, and other manufacturing master data objects while ensuring a high level of data integrity and process discipline. Your work will directly enable production readiness, operational excellence, and successful execution of customer projects.
How You'll Make an Impact - Partner with engineering, manufacturing, planning, procurement, and supply chain teams to create, maintain, and continuously improve manufacturing master data within SAP S/4HANA.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing Bills of Material (MBoMs), ensuring alignment with engineering requirements, sourcing strategies, and manufacturing processes.
- Execute Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and manage the implementation of engineering changes across manufacturing data structures.
- Create, maintain, and optimize manufacturing master data objects including routings, work centers, production versions, document information records, resources, storage locations, tools, and shift calendars.
- Support the development of standardized master data governance processes, work instructions, and documentation within a greenfield manufacturing environment.
- Attach manufacturing Bills of Material (MBoMs) to projects and maintain production versions to support production execution and material planning.
- Analyze data accuracy, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues that may impact manufacturing operations.
- Ensure manufacturing master data remains accurate, consistent, and audit-ready across all applicable SAP plant views.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline data management processes and improve operational effectiveness.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and documentation to establish sustainable processes that support long-term factory growth.
What You Bring - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, supply chain, or master data management within an Engineer-to-Order (ETO), Configure-to-Order (CTO), or complex industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with SAP ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA, including manufacturing master data, bills of material (EBoM and MBoM), production planning, and change management processes.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, material flow, production planning, and engineering change control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical and manufacturing requirements and translate them into structured system data.
- Experience developing and maintaining process documentation, work instructions, and operational standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data quality and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where new processes and systems are being established.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, manufacturing, and business functions.
