Job Summary

The Manufacturing Manager under general direction manages manufacturing resources to ensure that short-and long-term objectives are achieved. The Manufacturing Manager is primarily responsible for maintaining efficient operations, engineering/programming, production workflow (WIP), product cost management, continuous improvement, and related duties as required. Reporting directly to the General Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Directs all manufacturing/engineering operations for the facility, coordinates production activities with scheduling, engineering, and quality control to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources and equipment ensuring business plans and customer service levels are met.
  • Has direct supervision over the following departments: CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, Long Line, Secondary, Deburr, and ID/Assembly, and Engineering/Programming.
  • Drives process improvement through Lean/Six Sigma methodology for efficient manufacturing operations.
  • Oversees the manufacturing Operations staff in all their support efforts to develop and implement methods and processes to be used in the production of customer's products.
  • Mentors' department leaders on reporting, performance reviews, on time delivery and scheduling.
  • Participates in development of strategic initiatives to maintain and enhance market share and ensure profitability.
  • Ensures all requirements of the Quality system are met.
  • Ensures compliance with operating procedures in the workplace to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Monitors and optimizes performance of the manufacturing unit as measured by expense variance, scrap cost and productivity.
  • Suggests design or process changes to improve the manufacturability of product.
  • Serves as a member of the Leadership team responsible for Operations inclusive of adherence to cultural values.
  • Maintains communication, oversight, scheduling, and emergency availability for the off shifts (second shift and weekend shift) as required to maintain continuity of work, safety, and employee welfare.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, including 5 years in a management capacity or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering processes, manufacturing accounting, modern quality systems, and computerized business process control systems (ERP).
  • Thorough knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS 9100, or TS 16949 certification process.


Working Conditions

Manufacturing plant environment with variations in temperature, fumes, dust and atmospheric conditions.
