Summary The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for directing and supervising all fabrication and assembly operations, including machining, welding, grinding, wiring, and debugging of machine build projects. This role ensures quality, cost, and schedule targets are met while supporting the company's overall goal of reducing lead times. The Manufacturing Manager will work closely with leadership, engineering, and project management to optimize production processes, integrate new technologies, and develop the skills of the manufacturing team.

Operations & Production Management- Plan, direct, and coordinate fabrication and assembly activities to meet production schedules.
- Develop and implement shop layout, workflow, and capacity planning strategies for maximum efficiency.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications for accuracy and determine the best manufacturing methods.
- Maintain records of quotes, purchase orders, and verify invoicing accuracy.
- Purchase materials and supplies needed for production.
- Coordinate with other departments and contractors to maintain on-time project delivery.
Process Improvement & Quality Control- Implement continuous improvement initiatives and support LEAN manufacturing culture.
- Ensure adherence to AGR Quality System and ISO procedures.
- Identify potential project delays early and implement corrective actions to avoid schedule impact.
- Monitor accurate time tracking for all projects.
Team Leadership & Development- Mentor and coach fabrication and assembly teams to enhance skill sets.
- Conduct GEMBA meetings and ensure boards are updated.
- Address and resolve disciplinary issues in collaboration with the VP of Manufacturing Operations.
Safety & Compliance- Maintain a safe work environment and enforce all AGR safety policies.
- Promote and maintain 5S activities and daily cleanup schedules.
- Ensure all team members follow company policies and procedures.
Requirements- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing methods.
- Ability to coordinate resources and prioritize work schedules effectively.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent written, electronic, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to mentor, coach, and lead teams.
- Reliability and consistency in completing job-related tasks.
- Valid driver's license and US passport.
Supervisory Responsibilities- Manage direct reports across fabrication and assembly operations, including tool room, CNC, welding, grinding, and assembly build leads.
- Assign work, set priorities, and direct team members to ensure project schedules and quality targets are met.
- Collaborate with leadership to establish and implement departmental policies, goals, and procedures.
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior and confidentiality in all situations.
Work Environment - Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasional risk of electrical shock.
- Moderate noise level typical of a manufacturing facility.
Physical Demands - Regularly required to use hands for various tasks, reach with arms, talk, and hear.
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel.
- Frequently lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds (with material handling equipment available).
- Good vision and hand-eye coordination required.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Overtime is on an as needed basis and at the direction of the Plant Manager.
TravelTravel with reasonable notice, for installation, training and service work.
Preferred Education and Experience- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Lean Certification preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, fabrication, or assembly leadership.
- Experience with controls and vision systems and working with programmers during debug activities.
