What You Will Do:

Join Hayes Performance Systems as our Manufacturing Engineer - Machining and take ownership of improving the processes, technology, and performance behind our precision machining operations.

In this role, you'll combine hands-on CNC machining expertise with manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement to increase productivity, improve quality, reduce scrap, and strengthen process capability. You'll work closely with Operations, Quality, Design Engineering, and shop-floor teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges and turn improvement opportunities into sustainable results.

How You Will Do It:
  • Develop, optimize, and standardize CNC machining processes using CAM software and G-code
  • Drive improvements in productivity, quality, scrap reduction, cycle time, and overall process capability
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions for machining and tooling issues
  • Partner with Design Engineering on DFM reviews, new product launches, and manufacturability improvements
  • Develop and maintain setup documentation, tool paths, work instructions, and standardized machining processes
  • Provide hands-on technical support for process launches, troubleshooting, and complex shop-floor challenges
  • Evaluate and implement tooling, automation, robotic systems, and manufacturing technologies that improve operational performance
  • Support GR&R studies, capability analysis, first-article inspections, and other process-validation activities
  • Identify and implement opportunities for lights-out machining and increased automation
  • Mentor machinists and technicians while promoting process discipline and consistent best practices across machining operations

What We Look For:
  • 5-7 years of hands-on CNC machining experience, including setup, programming, and process optimization
  • Strong proficiency with CAM software, G-code, and machine simulation tools
  • Advanced knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, and CMM programming
  • Demonstrated success improving machining productivity, quality, and scrap performance
  • Experience mentoring machinists or technicians in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and translate technical challenges into practical manufacturing solutions
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, hands-on approach
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles
  • Bonus:
