Your Opportunity

BDO Canada's Montreal office is seeking a Manager to join our U.S. Corporate Tax Services team. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise and leadership capabilities to advise clients on complex cross-border tax matters, lead client engagements, foster strong client relationships, and contribute to the development of our team through the following responsibilities:

  • Identify as well as develop and implement strategies for clients to capitalize on business and tax opportunities for cross-border operations. This includes preparing & review tax reorganizations and reviewing tax returns

  • Lead U.S. Tax engagements for partnership, trust, and corporate clients

  • Build positive working relationships with clients

  • Participate in business development initiatives including identify new business opportunities with existing clients

  • Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis

  • Engage in training staff and invest in the professional development of your team

Your experience and education

  • You have completed your Canadian or U.S. CPA designation

  • You have a minimum 3 years experience in public accounting with experience supporting U.S. Tax clients

  • You have extensive understanding of relevant tax legislation, corporate and trust tax planning, and compliance

  • You value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work

  • You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills

  • Bilingualism (French and English) Required: Due to the frequent and complex contact with our English-speaking partners and clients in Quebec and outside of Quebec, and the need to draft documents in English, knowledge of English is essential for this position.
