The Opportunity

This position works out of our Temecula, CA location in the Abbott Vascular Division. Our medical devices help more than 10,000 people have healthier hearts, improve quality of life for thousands of people living with chronic pain and movement disorders, and liberate more than 500,000 people with diabetes from routine fingersticks. Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease.

THIS IS AN ONSITE DAILY REQUIRED POSITION

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

Primary Job Function

The position is responsible for maximizing product availability while optimizing inventory over the long term planning horizon. Position will influence members of the finance, R&D, marketing, customer service, and other members of supply chain enterprise to create strategies for network optimization and inventory. Manage supply risks and uncertainty and plans mitigation to respond to dynamic business conditions.

Core Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Compliance: Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures & contracts.
  • Strategy: Collaborate with business units & external third party providers to identify and document key assumptions that could impact the supply network and develop strategies for efficient response to changes.
  • Performance: Provides guidance and direction to teammates to ensure consistent execution to and escalation of deviations from, agreed strategies.
  • Financial: Accurate projection and reduction of Distressed Inventory (Excess & Obsolescence). Develops plans for Plan, LBE and LRP packages.
  • Service: Maximizing customer experience through product availability.
  • Inventory: Reduction of AV inventory to reduce capital, Standards Revision Variance (SRV) and distressed Inventory impact on the AV P&L. Analysis: Develops tools to test the cost, flexibility and efficiency of the network.


Accountability / Scope
  • Reports to Sr Supply Chain Manager and will be managing an assigned scope of products and manufacturing site(s).
  • Represents Supply interests during new product introduction and the life cycle management of the product.
  • Collaborates with the demand planning team to align on a monthly forecast and identify potential "what-if" scenarios.
  • Influences the AV manufacturing sites, Third Party providers and Distribution Center supply teams.
  • Interacts with the Marketing and Commercial teams for inventory reduction and delivery of customer service expectations.
  • Leads the reduction of AV inventory throughout the entire supply chain network.
  • Plans and organizes project assignments of substantial complexity and strategic impact to organization


Minimum Education
  • Bachelor degree (Engineering, Supply Chain or Business Management) or combination experience and education in related work background.
  • MBA preferred
  • Supply Chain and Project Management certifications preferred


Minimum Experience / Training Required
  • Minimum of 8+ years of related work experience
  • Supply Chain experience is required.
  • SAP
  • Medical Device experience preferred but not required.
  • This position requires excellent leadership, problem solving, negotiating, and general "people skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with particular attention to detail.
  • Proficient with MS Excel and PowerPoint and presenting to executive leadership
