Full Job Description

Title:

Manager, Subcontracts

KBR is seeking a Manager, Subcontracts to support a major project in an on-site capacity. This role oversees and performs the full range of procurement and subcontract administration activities, leading subcontracting efforts for construction within the Energy & Chemical industry. Location: Port Sulphur, LA.

Under minimal direction, this position is accountable for the performance and results of the Subcontracts function on the project, providing leadership and direction to the Subcontracts team while ensuring successful delivery of subcontracting objectives aligned with project goals.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage Subcontracts team in supporting construction activities for a major project

  • Oversee all phases of subcontracting, including:

    • Pre-award: bidder qualification, preparation and issuance of ITBs, and coordination of commercial and technical evaluations

    • Post-award: contract finalization, administration, change management, invoicing, reporting, and contract closeout

  • Serve as the primary Subcontracts interface with Client, Project Management Team, and internal KBR stakeholders

  • Develop and implement subcontracting strategies to support project execution and mitigate commercial risk

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to ensure consistent processes, compliance, and performance across the team

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of subcontracting processes, tools, and procedures

  • Ensure subcontract files and documentation are maintained in accordance with company standards

  • Complete site assignment in accordance with KBR’s terms and conditions

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Engineering, Industrial Distribution, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience

  • 15+ years of experience in subcontract formation and administration

  • Prior experience serving as a Lead Subcontracts Manager within an integrated project team environment

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, risk awareness, and attention to detail
