This role is a foundational member of our international revenue accounting team - an exciting opportunity to make an outsized impact.
What You'll Do and How You'll Have an Impact- Perform detailed contract review and analysis for non-standard arrangements to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606, and thoroughly document conclusions;
- Lead and execute revenue-related month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness;
- Partner with system teams to enhance revenue system utilization (NetSuite ARM), improving process efficiency and revenue accuracy;
- Identify bottlenecks, manual work, and automation opportunities across the revenue recognition and close process to drive continuous improvement;
- Collaborate with revenue operations, pricing, and product teams to conduct Standalone Selling Price (SSP) studies;
- Participate in M&A revenue-related integration to ensure smooth revenue process transitions as needed;
- Update revenue policies and position papers to reflect evolving business models, new products, and regulatory guidance;
- Assist with the external audit process and participate in and/or lead ad hoc projects with cross-functional impacts.
What We're Looking For- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred;
- 6+ years of progressive revenue accounting experience, ideally in SaaS, subscription, or marketplace environments;
- Strong technical revenue accounting skills, including deep understanding of IFRS 15 / ASC 606 revenue recognition standards;
- Proficiency in NetSuite ARM (Advanced Revenue Management) system;
- Experience with M&A revenue integration or purchase accounting is a plus;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of identifying and implementing process improvements;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
- Ability to communicate complex technical accounting concepts to cross-functional, non-finance stakeholders.
The salary band listed below reflects the expected annual base salary or OTE (on-target earnings) for this role at AppDirect and may be subject to change.
