Full Job Description
Summary:

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee the company's technology infrastructure, support critical business applications, and lead a team of three IT Specialists. The position manages a test lab environment and a team of IT Specialists that support various petroleum and convenience store industry technology solutions. Includes oversight of vendor partner relationships and software services agreements serving ~ 125 petroleum convenience stores and midstream terminals. This is an on-site position with no remote work.

This role has a current pay range of $119,000 - $135,000. The listed pay range represents the company's good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base rate of pay for this position at the time of this posting. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on their work location, qualifications, relevant experience, operational needs, demonstrated performance over time, and internal pay alignment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain IT systems, including Point Of Sale (POS), networking, and cloud-based applications.
  • Oversee the functionality, troubleshooting, and maintenance of POS systems across all retail locations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of three IT specialists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and problem-solving.
  • Provide oversight and escalation support for IT helpdesk operations, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Manage internal business side relationships and requirements and establish priorities and timelines for solution delivery.
  • Manage vendor relationships and act as primary SME in working with Procurement team to negotiate software and hardware solutions.
  • Manage and maintain POS test lab related equipment, keep current with changing technologies and requirements.
  • Define processes and procedures and oversee management of beta testing efforts for new or updated software and hardware solutions for retail locations.
  • Manage the Retail Communications Network Day to Day operations. Act as liaison and escalation point with Retail Communications Network providers and establish relationships.
  • Establish annual budgets for capital and expenses for the team and facilities. Manage to budget.
  • Monitor industry trends and technology changes and advise management on available options and proposed changes and new solutions.
  • Act as a liaison and escalation point with IT Specialists and technology service providers.
  • Lead and implement IT initiatives, such as system upgrades, new software deployments, cybersecurity improvements, and infrastructure enhancements.
  • Maintain up-to-date IT documentation and provide training to staff on technology best practices.

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management or related field and 8+ years of relevant work experience
  • 8 years' experience in retail POS service, support, development and/or project management
  • 5 years' experience supporting retail credit and debit card processing systems and quality testing.
  • 3 years' experience with fuel dispensing systems and interfaces.
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A strong desire for quality and attention to detail with excellent, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities including flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and capable of creating project plans, budget plans
  • Understanding of network communications, security measures, data protection and PCI and PA-DSS standards.
