Full Job Description
DUTIES: Develop the statistical methods and procedures used to ensure data validity, applicability, efficiency, and accuracy. Design and develop appropriate data sampling techniques, and statistical methods to solve business and technical problems, address business user needs, and answer business and research questions. Determine whether statistical methods are appropriate, based on user needs or research questions of interest. Develop and manage software applications or programming for statistical modeling and graphic analysis. Manage analysts in updating existing predictive models, reports or data pulls. Consult on the creation of new models, reports and data pulls. Draw insights and make recommendations based on assigned analysis. Expert on industry and business background. Advance in modeling techniques and available hardware/software big data solutions. Draw insights and make recommendations for projects across the team. Act as subject matter expert in multiple areas. Respond to ad-hoc requests. Prepare department business plans, staffing projections and budgets. Requisition supplies and materials necessary for efficient operation. Review plans and budgets periodically to achieve cost reduction where possible. Interview and/or approve job applicants for employment. Conduct and/or review associate performance appraisals. initiate or approve salary adjustments, performance ratings, and other personnel changes. Counsel associates and take disciplinary action or terminate the employment of associates as appropriate. Supervise and provide instructions for workers on data collection, processing and tabulation, and statistical data interpretation to identify significant differences in relationships among sources of information. Manage large amounts of data processing for statistical modeling and graphic analysis, using computers. May require pre-hire technical screen. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office. Multiple positions open. Salary $110,000 to $220,000 per year.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operation Research, or a related quantitative and analytics field. Seven (7) years of experience in the job offered, or related occupation. Employer will also accept a Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operation Research, or a related quantitative and analytics field and Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Experience with the following special skills: SAS SQL; Cloud database; R (programming language); Excel v-look-up, pivot tables, charts and graphing; Analyzing data using statistical, mathematical, or data mining methods; Insurance rating products and principles; Claims, Underwriting, Marketing or Agent; and Process control and project management.
