Full Job Description

The Manager -Purchasing, New Product Development / Introduction (NPD/ NPI) role is a leadership position within the Global Procurement & Supply Chain (GPSC) function at JLG Industries, Inc. (Access Segment).  With over 20 active programs in motion globally at any given time, this leader and team sit at the center of how JLG brings new innovations to market, helping extend JLG’s position as the premium, market-leading brand in the Access industry.  Through daily engagement, the NPD / NPI GPSC team acts as the connection point between key internal stakeholders, such as Global Product Development Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing / Operations, and Finance, and the Category Management / Strategic Sourcing team and their selected supply bases, translating program requirements into clear direction while proactively surfacing risk to ensure programs deploy on time, on cost, and at quality.

This leader plays an equallyimportant rolein growing the people, culture, and systems and processes that make these cross-functional connections work dayin and day out. By leading a high-performing, collaborative team of approximately nine (9) North American team members, withfurtherdotted-line global leadership responsibility, this leader willleveragecontinuous improvement and thought leadershipbest practices to define the next chapter of how NPD/ NPI GPSC operates.  With strong cross-functional influence and a People First mindset, this role positions NPD / NPI GPSC as one of the most trusted, connected functions across JLG and Oshkosh Corporation.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of approximately nine (9)program-orientedGPSC professionals, fostering trust, ownership, and a strong, engaged team culture

  • Provide mentorship, set clear priorities, and cultivate a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement that spreads across the NPD/ NPI GPSC organization

  • Drive positive employee engagement and retention using a People First mindset, ensuring team members feel supported, valued, and aligned to organizational objectives

  • Strengthen the team’s project management capability to proactivelyidentify, assess, and mitigate program risks

  • Complete Talent Spotlights,maintainsuccession plans, and define an individualized development planfor every team member, building a strong talent pipeline

  • Benchmark, define, and implement an evolved NPD/ NPI GPSC operating structure that strengthens execution, agility, and strategic input across all programs

New Product Development / Introduction Excellence

  • Own and drive program Key Process Parameters (KPPs),such as Time-to-RFQ, Time-to-Source, Gates-on-Time, and Cost-at-Gate, to deliver predictable, on-time, on-cost programs

  • Support delivery of next-generation platforms and regionalization initiatives, partnering closely with Engineering and Product Management throughout each phase gate

  • Partner with Category Management to integrate documented Category Strategies and align sourcing execution through Global Product Development, with proactive risk mitigation plans in place prior to deployment

  • Identifyopportunities to secure meaningful Intellectual Property (IP) that strengthens JLG’s first-mover advantage

  • Develop Category Engagement Playbooks with Category Management to enable earlier Prototype/Production source identification and improve mid-program agility

  • Embed Should-Cost reviews for early gate cost prediction andutilizethroughout the program to support cost audits

  • Partner with Supplier Development on capacity assessments for critical suppliers, enforce New Business Hold controls, and leverage NPD/ NPIRisk Management Dashboards to surface and resolve forecastedperformance concerns

Enterprise Alignment

  • Serve as a key connector across Category Management, Supply Chain Solutions, Aftermarket GPSC, and Supplier Development, ensuring NPD/ NPIprograms benefitfrom aligned strategiesand execution

  • Co-lead formation of a Supply Chain Solutions & NPD/ NPI GPSC Collaboration Council to share best practices, improve alignment, and drive enhancement opportunities

  • Champion Continuous Improvement across NPD/ NPIsystems and processes, and proactively manage key systems and administrative processes with minimal production or schedule impact

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with seven (7) or more years of experience in Supply Chain,Purchasing, or a related field

  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to travelup to25%, including internationally

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Earned or actively pursuing an advanced industry-related degree (e.g., MBA, MSc)

  • Relevant industry-related certifications (e.g., PMP, CSCP, CPSM)

  • Prior leadership experience withdemonstratedability to develop, inspire, and lead high-performing teams

  • Experience in a global manufacturing environment, with preference toward off-highway, heavy equipment, or capital equipment applications

  • Demonstrated experience leading NPD/ NPI programs through phase-gate or Global Product Development (GPD) processes, including APQP/PPAP or equivalent methodologies

  • Strong program and risk management skills, witha track recordof proactively identifying and mitigating program and supply chain risks

  • Experience partnering with Category Management orStrategicSourcing teams to align sourcing timing and strategy to program milestones

  • Curiosity for and interest inleveragingArtificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance outcomes

  • Ability to effectively communicate, including written and verbal updates to Executive Leadership

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional and global team environment

  • Strong organizational and program management skills, with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail across multiple concurrent programs

  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and requirements while meeting deadlines

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving requirements

  • Experience andproficiencywith software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, SharePoint, Teams, etc.), project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.), and MRP systems

Pay Range:

$103,300.00 - $177,700.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
