Responsibilities

The Manager, Property Operations, is responsible for ensuring donor center facilities are maintained in a safe, compliant, and operationally effective manner. This role supports regulatory readiness, oversee maintenance and vendor services, and partners with site leadership to ensure uninterrupted operations aligned with NYBC standards and mission.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs, repair activities, and service requests to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted facility operations.
  • Oversee day-to-day repairs and maintenance for building systems, equipment, and site infrastructure, prioritizing work to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Partner with Site Leads and Collections Managers to identify maintenance needs, respond to facility issues, and proactively resolve operational concerns.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to assess building conditions, identify maintenance deficiencies, and ensure timely completion of corrective actions.
  • Monitor preventive maintenance schedules, equipment performance, and vendor service delivery to maximize asset reliability and extend equipment life.
  • Support EH&S and QRA inspections, ensuring facilities remain compliant with regulatory, safety, and quality standards while maintaining a continuous state of audit readiness.
  • Review and approve deviations, minor SOP revisions, and CAPAs related to facilities operations, maintenance activities, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support RFP processes and negotiations, and administer maintenance and repair service contracts as directed, and monitor vendor performance against service level expectations.
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions, work orders, and vendor invoices, ensuring expenditures aligned with approved budgets, contractual obligations, and internal controls.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensures all facilities and services align with regulatory standards, SOPs, and audit requirements.
  • Maintains documentation and inspection readiness across all locations.

Accountability & Execution:

  • Delivers timely resolution of facility issues and follows through on corrective actions.
  • Exercises sound judgment in approving deviations, CAPAs, and expenditures.

Collaboration & Customer Focus:

  • Build effective partnerships with site leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Responds proactively to operational needs impacting donor and staff experience.

Operational Excellence:

  • Drives consistency in maintenance programs, vendor performance, and facility standards.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities for process improvement and cost efficiency.

Integrity & Attention to Detail:

  • Ensures accuracy in documentation, approvals, and compliance activities.

Qualifications

Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the requirements above that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.

 

For applicants who will perform this position in Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $115,000.00 to $125,000.00 per year. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant27s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.

The New York Blood Center (NYBC) is a nonprofit community, regional blood center that provides blood and transfusion-related medical services to patients in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland. NYBC also conducts research in hematology, blood banking, transfusion medicine, and cellular therapies. The center was founded in 1964 and is headquartered in New York City. NYBC operates 13 blood donation centers and has partnerships with over 40 hospitals in the Northeastern United States.
