Full Job Description
This role is part of Alcon's Supply Chain function, a team that manages the logistics, inventory management, and supply chain analytics for Alcon's industry leading products to ensure products are delivered efficiently and effectively so that people can see brilliantly.

The Manager, Production Planning (Professional Path), is primarily responsible for maintaining material schedules to support production control, managing material flow, and addressing shortages. You will handle direct material buying, execute supply chain strategies, and lead individual projects.

Specifics include:
  • Mentorship & Coaching: Share best practices, guide team members to effective solutions, and provide ongoing coaching to support development.
  • Project Management: Lead and drive project teams by leveraging deep subject-matter expertise to ensure successful delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and simplify tasks.
  • Supplier Integration: Collaborate directly with suppliers to optimize processes, strengthen partnerships, and implement mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Advanced Problem Solving: Analyze complex issues, develop effective solutions, and drive problems through to successful resolution.
  • Maintain schedules for material requirements and availability to support production control and manage the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments according to schedules.
  • Compile records of material quantity, cost, and type received, shipped, in stock, or in production.
  • Determine and address possible and actual material shortages.
  • Handle direct material buying and execute long-term supply chain strategies.
  • Manage individual projects, apply advanced knowledge to enhance project performance and operational efficiency, and make operational decisions requiring project management, time management, communication, and industry-specific skills.
  • Mentor others by sharing best practices, guiding to solutions and coaching.
  • Project management: Lead and drive project team using deep knowledge of subject.
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives to enhance work processes.
  • Work directly with suppliers to improve their processes for the overall benefit of partnership; actively manage solutions and partner with suppliers to implement.
  • Identify and execute problems to conclusion.
  • All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.
  • Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization.
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience
