Overview

Are you passionate about transforming customer insights into innovative products that shape the future of technology?

In your role as Product Manager, you will champion the development of new products for our wireless product portfolio. In this role, you will work with customers, all levels of Engineering, and all functions within Global Marketing and Sales to build a shared understanding of critical customer needs and the product attributes that will solve for them. You will draft product requirements, working directly with engineering teams to ensure successful implementation. You will perform thorough quantitative analysis and provides recommendations on new product forecasts and pricing. The Manager, of Product Management is a company expert on the needs of target end users and thoroughly understands the strengths and weaknesses of all competitors in the category. This role merges business needs, customer needs, product design, and Engineering cost/time/risk considerations into successful products. You will contribute to decisions about Shure's product roadmap and marketing strategy.

This role is hybrid and based in our Niles, IL location.

Responsibilities
• Represents the Global Marketing and Sales Division during product development projects, ensuring that product attributes will create a positive end-user value proposition.
• Initiates and participates in market research to define target segments and product positioning for new product development efforts.
• Writes detailed functional requirements for product development teams, ensuring the development team has clarity on the measures of success in meeting requirements, which include technical specifications if necessary.
• Provides forecast and pricing analysis and recommendations to key stakeholders in the Company's business units.
• Formulates and communicates the value proposition to the Company's global marketing teams.
• Executes timely Alpha and Beta testing with end users and analyzes findings to determine the appropriate course of action.
• Review user documentation for accuracy regarding product features, proper usage, and expected performance.
• Provides internal training regarding the operation, performance, usage environments, and ordering convention on products before launch and serves as the product champion at trade exhibitions during launch.
• Maintains expert knowledge of the worldwide market for competitive products and maintain contact with end users to validate requirements for products, based on competitive offerings and existing Shure products.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field. Graduate coursework is desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years of wide-ranging experience in marketing or product management of a technical product with responsibility for results, including costs and methods.
• Knowledge of audio systems is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability working on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
• Demonstrated experience in determining the best use of resources to meet goals of assignments received in the form of objectives.
• Able to lead cooperative efforts among members of project teams.
• Able to follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Able to develop and administer schedules and establish performance requirements.
• Ability to travel 25%.
• Excellent critical listening, analytic, and writing skills.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office software and internal IT system.
