The Opportunity

Borderless AI is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Manager, Payment Operations, to help lead our day-to-day payment operations as we scale. You'll manage cross-functional initiatives, streamline internal processes, and serve as the go-to owner for operational needs across the business - from workflow strategy to data tracking and process documentation. This role is a great fit for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment and enjoys building order out of complexity while mentoring others along the way.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Own and lead payment operations strategy, workflows, and team output, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across teams.
  • Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and drive improvements to increase speed and reduce errors, setting priorities for the broader team.
  • Build and maintain clear process documentation, workflows, and communication guidelines, and ensure team-wide adherence.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and clients, resolving operational questions and escalations.
  • Champion the use of AI tools to automate repetitive tasks and improve the speed and quality of operational work across the team.
  • Lead the onboarding of new tools, systems, and processes as the company scales, and manage change adoption.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to translate feedback and operational pain points into process or tooling improvements.
  • Coordinate and oversee cross-functional and cross-time-zone requests across internal teams and external partners.
  • Mentor and support analysts on the team, providing guidance on prioritization, problem-solving, and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, finance, or a related analytical role at a fast-paced startup, with prior experience managing projects or people.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing stakeholders in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Comfort working with data to track performance, identify trends, and support recommendations (spreadsheets required; experience with SQL).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of working cross-functionally and influencing without authority.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with payroll (e.g. ADP) and documentation (e.g. Notion) tools is an asset.
  • Familiarity with using AI tools to improve day-to-day productivity is an asset.

  • Big challenges don't scare us. We're solving global problems that need creativity, technology, and determination. Be part of the impact!
