Responsibilities The Corporate Information Services Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Manager - IS Epic Reporting.
The
Manager - IS Epic Reporting manages a team of software engineers in Information Systems, including financial, project and personnel management duties. Provides direction and oversight to creating and optimizing reports for clinical and business stakeholders in acute and ambulatory care settings. Provides project direction to UHS entities as needed. Coordinates work assignments given in order to meet deadlines and ensure continued progress toward Epic and Financial Project milestones and assignment completion. Shares experience and expertise with other members of team. Exercises operational responsibility for supervision, performance evaluations and direction of team.
Manages the implementation of UHS Reporting applications. Manages all aspects of projects assigned from preparing project schedules and estimates through final implementation. Understands Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory requirements from a best practice and evidence based criteria.
Key responsibilities include:System Implementation:
- Regularly meets with IS Informatics, CMIO team, Corporate Clinical stakeholders, vendors, and facility and corporate IS staff to design and develop report specifications.
- Designs solutions for reporting applications and prepares the appropriate documentation.
- Supervises team that Performs Q/A on application functionality.
- Adheres to appropriate UHS Project Management standards.
- Ensures strict adherence to work plans, reporting all serious deviations to management.
- Oversees employees who educate the end users in operating procedures for application.
System Maintenance/Support:
- Ensures ticketed issues are being addressed timely and with high quality.
- Adheres to UHS Service Level and Change Management Policies.
- Establishes, supervises and maintains regular communications with user community.
Administration and Oversight:
- Effectively trains analysts in performance of their duties as required.
- Provides clinical and technical expertise and guidance to other team members as required.
- Maintains Service Excellence principles.
- Prepares and promptly submits all routine and special reports.
- Interviews applicants for vacant positions as needed using appropriate interview techniques.
- Completes performance evaluations of direct reports as needed.
- Keeps management well informed of activities, needs, problems.
- Performs other tasks as required by management.
Qualifications Position Requirements: - Bachelor's degree required.
- Five or more years of progressively more responsible reporting experience with emphasis on clinical and business analytic workflows, quality outcomes and application to electronic medical record. Supervision, direction and performance management of direct reports.
- Expert knowledge of SQL, Epic reporting tools to include Clarity, Cogito, Caboodle, Slicer Dicer, Radar, Reporting Workbench, business intelligence tools, Dashboard development, ETL tools.
- Thorough understanding of database tools, report validation methods, and data warehouses.
- Preferred understanding of SFTP configuration.
- Knowledge of system application implementation, enhancement and support methods and practices.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of computer systems analysis and programming techniques and procedures, including: consulting with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications; design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, coding, debugging, or modification of computer systems or programs based on and related to user design specifications.
- Working knowledge of IS standards and quality methods and metrics.
- Working knowledge of project management methods.
- General familiarity of user business practices, concepts and terminology sufficient to support the applications.
- Experience managing, mentoring and evaluating team members.
- Strong written and verbal skills with ability to speak to executives, and IS leadership a must.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
License or Registration Requirements : Epic certification required in Epic Cogito,Caboodle, Clarity Data Model, or Clarity tools administration
Travel Requirements: 5 - 25% domestic US travel (depending on projects).
