Full Job Description
Join Equitable as a Manager, Individual Wealth Operations and play a key role in delivering an exceptional client and advisor experience while supporting the continued growth of our Individual Wealth business. This leadership opportunity combines operational excellence, people leadership, and strategic transformation, providing the chance to influence service delivery, streamline processes, and drive meaningful improvements across core wealth operations. The successful candidate will lead high-performing teams in a dynamic environment, balancing service, risk management, compliance, and operational efficiency while helping shape the future of Individual Wealth Operations.

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of Individual Wealth administrative functions, including new business administration, in-force administration, financial transactions, and claims processing.
  • Drive service excellence by ensuring service, quality, productivity, and operational performance targets are achieved in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Manage operational workflows, resource allocation, workforce planning, and capacity management to support business growth and service commitments.
  • Lead, coach, and develop employees through effective performance management, talent development, employee engagement, and succession planning.
  • Monitor operational performance metrics, identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and implement corrective actions to address service or productivity gaps.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, operational controls, and risk management standards while maintaining strong governance practices.
  • Assess operational risks, analyze complex exceptions, and make sound decisions to balance client service, compliance, and financial integrity.
  • Lead and support operational change initiatives, including process improvement, digitization, and workflow optimization efforts.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify operational efficiencies, improve client and advisor experiences, and support strategic business objectives.
  • Communicate operational priorities, results, and recommendations effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.


What you'll bring:

  • Post-secondary education, preferably in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience with a strong track record of coaching, developing, and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Individual Wealth operations, products, services, and administrative processes.
  • Detailed understanding of segregated funds, Guaranteed Interest Accounts (GIAs), annuities, and associated operational processes.
  • Working knowledge of applicable systems, including VAX, Ingenium, Unitrax, or similar wealth administration platforms.
  • Strong understanding of compliance requirements, regulatory authorities, risk management principles, and operational controls within a financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading operational change, process improvement, digitization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, workforce planning, and performance management capabilities, with the ability to leverage operational data and metrics to drive results.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, and influencing skills in complex and time-sensitive environments.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage effectively with employees, leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, manage competing deadlines, and lead across diverse operational functions.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand systems, compliance requirements, taxation concepts, and operational processes.

Your base pay will be based on your skills, qualifications, experience and education. In addition to your salary, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award tied to business performance, plus a wide range of competitive benefits.
