Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll, hiring/firing processes, performance reviews, coaching, and team development.
  • Assist in testing, coordinating projects, and maintenance tasks.
  • Plan, budget, and implement resources for projects and maintenance in the data center.
  • Meet monthly operational targets and plans.
  • Assist with new construction commissioning and problem documentation.
  • Communicate and coordinate activities during operational incidents.
  • Foster open and professional communication within the team and across the organization.

The Job

The Data Center Operations I Manager provides direct supervision to professional contributors and/or skilled support to individual contributors. They act as a guide to site operations teams, vendors, and contractors and may become actively involved, as required, to meet operational standards, project schedules, and resolve problems. The manager creates a culture of professionalism and operational excellence, fostering a workplace where people love to work and build a career.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision to the HPC Data Center Technicians, overall data center supervision, and routine operational plans.


  • Ensures the team is fulfilling responsibilities on time and projects are progressing, as expected.


  • Manage payroll, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching, and development.


  • Assists with testing and coordinating projects and maintenance.


  • Plan, coordinate, budget, and implement resources to complete projects and maintenance within the data center.


  • Meets target typically against a monthly plan.


  • Assists with new construction commissioning, as necessary, documenting and reporting all problems.


  • Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident.


  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.


  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Travel

Occasional travel between data centers may be required as needed.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office, warehouse, and data center environment. It routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptops, smartphones, ladders, forklifts, and scissor lifts. While performing these duties, the employee will be exposed to hot and cold environments.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, onsite position. Some nights and weekends may be required.
