Position Summary
The Manager - Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and fabrication activities of the gas-treating equipment fabrication facility. This role requires a leader with experience in gas-treating equipment fabrication, supply chain management, team leadership, and final product delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Report to the Director - Operations and ensure fabrication projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and quality control teams to meet project requirements.
  • Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support and promote health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance.
  • Utilize leadership skills and fabrication experience to oversee the safe and efficient fabrication of gas-processing vessels and related equipment for delivery to customers.
  • Manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and operational demands while exercising sound judgment in a team-oriented environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize workloads, improve processes, and enhance productivity in compliance with safety standards and requirements.
  • Establish and drive work processes and standards to support production efficiency and consistency.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable regulatory and company requirements and coordinate activities with regulatory agencies, internal departments, and customers as needed.
  • Direct and evaluate fabrication team performance to meet safety, budgetary, efficiency, and operational goals, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, including Kinder Morgan's Operational Excellence initiative.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate, business unit, regional, and divisional goals and objectives.
  • Support employee development and staffing strategies to meet operational needs.
  • Prepare and maintain reports, records, and documentation related to operations, maintenance, expense management, safety and regulatory compliance, and employee administration.
  • Promote, oversee, and administer approved operations and maintenance budgets.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Certifications / Licenses
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the company and its insurers

Skills, Experience, and Knowledge
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience, including manufacturing leadership experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in gas-treating equipment fabrication (including amine treating, glycol dehydration, and natural gas stabilization)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams with a focus on safety, operational effectiveness, and risk reduction
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders

Working Conditions
  • Work environment includes fabrication shops and office settings
  • Typical work schedule of 40-50 hours per week
  • Position requires time spent both in an office environment and in fabrication shop settings

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Knowledge
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field, preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of pipe, valves, fittings, and equipment used in amine treating, glycol dehydration, and natural gas stabilization processes
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, including waste minimization practices
