Full Job Description
As an Account Development Manager, you play a critical leadership role in driving and sustaining our capacity model through a high-performing Account Development Team dedicated to internal and external partnerships. The Manager's primary responsibility is to lead, develop and support a team of 5-8 Account Development Specialists, fostering a culture of consultative excellence, continuous learning and results-driven performance. The daily work includes enabling and coaching Account Development team members with meaningful educator interactions, partnering with Regional Sales leadership to align team execution with territory goals, and collaborating across teams and departments to align processes and tactics to improve outcomes in designated territories. Essential duties/responsibilities: • Lead, coach and develop a team of 5-8 individual contributors through regular observation, feedback, and upskilling for an educator-first approach in all external interactions. • Monitor team and individual performance against weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual sales and learning targets, identifying trends and proactively addressing areas for growth. • Support Account Development team members in managing and driving pipeline opportunities, providing guidance on prioritization, outreach strategies and stakeholder engagement. • Partner with Inside Sales and Field Sales Leadership and collaborate with adjacent teams such as Sales Operations, Marketing and Service to ensure alignment between team activity and organizational targets. • Conduct regular check-ins and team meetings that reinforce accountability, surface challenges, and celebrate wins. • Coordinate onboarding and ensure active participation in ongoing training to build product knowledge, consultative selling skills and familiarity with business systems across the team. • Build depth and breadth of expertise in the company's products, the issues faced by teachers in the classroom, and the latest trends within your designated territories. • Contribute to territory sales plans, utilizing internal and external data to ensure that educator needs are thoroughly researched and addressed. • Model and reinforce CA's values to create an environment of open interaction to assure affirmative employee morale and effective change management. • Continuously deepen knowledge of the K-12 education market, inside sales best practices, and leadership development to grow as a people manager and thought partner. Required Job Skills and Abilities: • Proven ability to coach and develop professionals in a structured, feedback-rich environment • Strong consultative communication skills, including content and delivery of written and verbal communication, presenting in both in-person and in virtual environments • Data-driven approach to pipeline management with the ability to translate metrics into actionable coaching • Ability to build trust and psychological safety within a team while maintaining high standards and accountability • Effective at managing through ambiguity and prioritizing appropriately • Familiarity with K-12 education market dynamics, curriculum adoption cycles and school/district needs • Strong presentation and problem-solving skills; analytical capability • Proficient in all business systems utilized by Inside Sales, including Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, and AI-productivity tools. • Demonstrates integrity, ethical leadership, and a professional demeanor consistent with CA's mission and values. Required Education and Experience: • BA/BS Degree required (Education or Marketing/Business preferred) • 5 or more years of relevant work experience in EdTech, Inside Sales, or K-12 education with demonstrated experience in a capacity model • 2 or more years previous experience in a client-facing role, with 2+ years in Account Development, Team Lead or similar role preferred • Experience with Salesforce CRM and virtual sales environments required • Demonstrated integrity, ethical standards, and a professional demeanor. Hybrid Model: We operate with an intentional hybrid approach that balances in-office collaboration (2 days/week) with flexibility to work from home. The role also includes occasional travel for in-person meetings, school visits, and conferences, typically 3-5 times per year. Benefits and Pay Range: Pay Range - This role's range is $69,250 - $118,250. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that Curriculum Associates considers in making compensation decisions based on our Compensation Philosophy. Actual base pay within that range will vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, prior experience and relevant skill sets. At Curriculum Associates, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances for each case. The Company recognizes that minimum wage varies by location and will ensure all compensation decisions comply with applicable state and local laws.
