A Snapshot of Your Day
As Manager 9HL PDT, you will lead the global turbine frame design team within Product Engineering 9HL and ensure business continuity for the SGT-9000HL gas turbine platform. You will be responsible for team leadership and resource management, technical ownership of turbine frame design and validation, and close collaboration with Manufacturing, Service, and Procurement.
You hold a Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a comparable field and bring extensive experience in gas turbine design as well as in leading global engineering teams.
How You'll Make an Impact
Technical leadership and strategic direction for SGT-9000HL turbine-module development, upgrades, and issue resolution
Management of complex turbine frame design reviews from concept through manufacturing, testing, verification, validation, and product release
Leadership of technical programs, root cause analyses (RCA), and design down-selection within schedule and budget requirements
Leadership, coaching, and development of a global engineering team, including performance and development management
Resource planning, budget allocation, and manpower management for the timely delivery of engineering work packages
Cross-functional coordination with Manufacturing, Service, Procurement, and Project organizations, including fleet support, market introduction, customer communication, and technology roadmap execution
What You Bring
Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a comparable engineering discipline
Extensive experience in gas turbine product design and development, including turbine frames, hot gas path components, and mechanical integrity
Advanced expertise in gas turbine engineering, heat transfer, turbine module development, and relevant engineering tools such as Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and SAP
Proven leadership and development of diverse, global engineering teams, including coaching, resource planning, and performance management
Strong project management and strategic planning capabilities, including experience with Agile or KANBAN methodologies
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, including business-fluent English and coordination across Manufacturing, Service, and Procurement
Candidates with more years of experience may be considered at a higher level.
