Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor leads and coordinates the activities of employees engaged in the maintenance of complex metal manufacturing equipment, including casting, rolling, annealing, and slitting. This role leads the safety excellence effort for the maintenance hourly team. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing direction to the hourly maintenance team engaged in the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, machinery and facilities, electronic and electrical repair, maintenance of buildings, repair of material handling equipment such as cranes and hoists, and other associated or related equipment and items. This role strives for continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility and drives the MOS process to maximize productivity and accountability.

This role works a 12-hour rotating schedule (6am-6pm or 6pm-6am). This role is located in East Alton, ILand will be 100% on-site.

Base Salary Range: $88,000 to $98,000 per year.

May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing MOS process, implement and direct work activities/plans/schedules and assess maintenance shift performance of maintenance activities for equipment in area of responsibility.
  • Instruct and coach hourly maintenance employees in the proper maintenance and safety procedures for each position.
  • Establish and enforce performance levels and expectations in areas of safety, quality, housekeeping, and productivity.
  • Support and encourage employee involvement in continuous improvement activities including Safety Excellence, Maintenance Excellence/TPM and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Confirm conformance to maintenance plans and procedures including PM and proactive maintenance specifications.
  • Assist in the troubleshooting process to assure identification and resolution of maintenance issues to maintain productivity and products quality and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Enforce craftsman expectations in areas including productivity, job safety awareness, and quality of work. Also enforce work efficiency opportunities resulting from the new Collective Bargaining Agreement and pursues cross training of crafts.

Maintenance Supervisor Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or Technical Field with a minimum of five (5) years9 experience or equivalent manufacturing maintenance supervision experience. A bachelor9s degree is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills on industrial equipment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with hands on experience in the maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Must be able to work rotating 12-hour shifts. The standard shift is 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am and rotates every 2 weeks.
