Job Purpose and Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading maintenance operations at the Louisville, KY manufacturing facility. This role ensures equipment reliability, supports continuous plant operations, and drives a safe working environment. Responsibilities include managing maintenance activities across production equipment and facility assets, coordinating contractor support, leading a team of up to 15 union maintenance technicians, and participating in maintenance activities and troubleshooting efforts as needed.

Work Environment: Onsite at the Louisville Manufacturing Plant, supporting 24/7 operations

Schedule: Monday - Friday day shift, starting at 6:00 am to support shift handoff activities, with availability to support off-shifts, weekends, and urgent maintenance needs as required.

What will you do as a Maintenance Supervisor at Dawn Foods?
  • Direct, coordinate, and facilitate activities of workers engaged in the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, to include the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and electrical systems
  • Manage proactive maintenance to include all equipment and machinery in the plant
  • Keep equipment and machinery in safe working conditions
  • Participate in maintenance activities as needed to support staffing and operational needs.
  • Work safely and maintain a safe work environment following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety practices
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs
  • Work with the workforce on continuous improvement to plant equipment and practices in cost, quality, service, and safety
  • Identify and execute opportunities to improve plant equipment
  • Facilitate a safe work environment through auditing and inspecting areas for safety hazards and observing team member safe work habits
  • Correct all OSHA violations and potential hazards in a timely manner
  • Manage the training, discipline, and development of the maintenance staff
  • Manage maintenance and repair spending within budget levels, to include capital projects
  • Exposure to and experience with GMP, British Retail Consortium Global Standards (BRCGS) for Food Safety, and American Institute of Baking (AIB) standards
  • Understand Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) programs, OSHA standards, and plant safety programs
  • Other duties as assigned


What Does It Take to be a Maintenance Supervisor at Dawn Foods?

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, or related discipline with 1 year of maintenance supervisory, lead, and/or team support experience, OR at least 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment required
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing team members
  • Proven ability to monitor, analyze, and improve maintenance performance metrics to drive results
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to drive process improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and enforce safety standards within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to resolve issues in a timely, organized, and cost-efficient manner
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) with the ability to learn technologies and systems
  • Food experience preferred
  • Union experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and lead a team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proactive, self-directed, independent worker, with self-confidence

Compensation

The base salary for this position is $68,700-$105,800 with bonus eligibility.
