Job Overview & Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Reliability Engineer at ULA you will provide engineering support and leadership to the Decatur
Facility and Maintenance organization to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and availability. The role focuses on preventing failures, optimizing equipment life cycles, minimizing downtime, and reducing maintenance costs through data-driven analysis and proactive maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support equipment reliability and maintenance improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze equipment performance and maintenance data to identify failure trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement proactive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, maintenance costs, and equipment-related impacts.
  • Support equipment life-cycle optimization and continuous improvement efforts.


Required Education

Bachelor

Required Years of Experience

Minimum of 6 years of related work experience

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or relevant field
  • 6 years experience in a reliability engineering support role
  • CMRP Certification - Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Self-starter with strong multi-tasking skills
  • Highly proficient in MS Office Applications
  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), predictive and preventative maintenance
  • Experience with data analysis and statistical modeling
  • Familiarity with production equipment design process and systems


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a Manufacturing Reliability Group
  • Aerospace Manufacturing Experience
  • Strong foundation in statistics, data analysis, and predictive technologies (such as vibration analysis and infrared diagnostics)
  • Experience with EAM 7I
